State Relations
We are Texas A&M University's primary liaison to the state government, working closely with state elected officials, the Texas Legislature, and state agencies on matters that affect higher education and Texas A&M University specifically, including our campuses in Galveston, McAllen, Ft. Worth, and Washington, D.C. We monitor and analyze state legislation, regulations, and policy and seek to engage and inform key stakeholders on issues impacting Texas A&M. Our goal is simple; elevate the profile of Texas A&M University by identifying opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to share their expertise with the state government.

Chief Government Relations OfficerJulie Kopycinski was named Chief Government Relations Officer of Texas A&M University in December 2023. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of government relations strategies for Texas A&M University, engaging with elected officials, government agencies and higher education organization groups to build support for and tell the story of the great work happening at Texas A&M.
