Meet Pat Mayland 

Pat Mayland serves as the Executive Assistant for Texas A&M University Government Relations.  In her role, she supports Julie Kopycinski, Chief Government Relations Officer, and Michael Hardy, Deputy Chief of Government Relations and Director of Federal Relations.

Pat has served in numerous administrative roles within Texas A&M. Prior to joining Government Relations in 2023, Pat served as the Executive Assistant to Texas A&M University’s Chief Operating Officer, handling an array of administrative responsibilities.

Pat joined the Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2015 and served as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for the Texas A&M Health Science Center and the Dean of the College of Medicine before moving to the President’s office in 2021 to support Texas A&M’s Chief Operating Officer. Pat also served as Office Manager for the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Health Science Center.

In 2009, Pat began working for the Texas A&M Research Foundation as an Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer, in addition to the Managing Counsel for Texas A&M Research Foundation.  In this role she performed complex administrative support for the office of the President, the Research Foundation Board of Trustees, and various committees including the Texas A&M University Council of Principal Investigators Advisory Committee, Executive Committee, and Audit Committee.  Pat worked closely and coordinated logistics and communications with all Texas A&M System Members, Texas A&M Board of Regents, and Texas A&M President’s office on matters regarding the Texas A&M Research Foundation.

Prior to joining Texas A&M, Pat worked for Plano Independent School District for many years as an Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Office Manager for the division of Human Resources.  Pat worked closely with the Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent’s office.
